Hello Kitty My Dream Store, operated by ACTGAMES, made an appearance at ChinaJoy 2026.
Hello Kitty My Dream Store is a relaxing casual mobile game that combines merge puzzles—where players combine identical items to create new ones—with store decoration and character collection.
The game features a variety of beloved Sanrio characters, including the iconic Hello Kitty. Players can collect characters, progress through puzzles, and decorate their own unique stores.
Jang Hyo-sik, Executive Producer at ACTGAMES
ACTGAMES has been operating the game primarily across Asian markets for approximately a year since its launch. With its participation in ChinaJoy, the company aims to gauge the response from Chinese players and ultimately expand the game’s reach into China, North America, and Europe.
What does ACTGAMES hope to achieve with Hello Kitty My Dream Store in the global market? At the Korea Pavilion at ChinaJoy, we sat down with Jang Hyo-sik, Executive Producer at ACTGAMES, to discuss the game’s key features and the company’s plans for its future service.
Q. Could you briefly introduce Hello Kitty My Dream Store?
A. Hello Kitty My Dream Store is a merge puzzle game designed to be easy and enjoyable for anyone to play.
At its core is a merge puzzle system where players combine identical items to create new ones, complemented by store decoration and character collection elements.
Rather than focusing on complex controls or high difficulty, we designed it as a relaxing casual game where players can unwind while enjoying adorable characters and decorating their own stores.

Q. Could you tell us about your background in the game industry?
A. I have worked in the game industry for about 20 years and currently serve as Executive Producer at ACTGAMES. I joined ACTGAMES approximately three years ago and oversee the overall development and live service of our games.
Q. What kind of company is ACTGAMES?
A. ACTGAMES is a Korean game developer and publisher specializing in mobile games based on globally recognized IPs. Most of the IP-based games we develop are designed not only for the Korean market but also for global markets, including North America, Japan, and other parts of Asia. We place great importance on naturally incorporating the appeal of each IP’s characters and universe into our games while providing long-term service tailored to the preferences of players in each market.
Q. What stage is the game currently at, and what updates are planned?
A. Hello Kitty My Dream Store has been in live service for about a year since its official launch.
The game is currently operating steadily across Asian markets, and we plan to expand more actively into China, North America, and Europe. We will continue introducing new costumes to give players more ways to customize their characters. We also plan to steadily expand the world map, allowing players to explore new areas and experience new stories.

Q. What kind of results are you hoping to achieve going forward?
A. Hello Kitty My Dream Store has now established a stable foundation in the Asian market.
Building on that foundation, our goal is to expand the game’s service into China, North America, and Europe by next year. We will focus on successfully establishing the game in these new markets and introducing Hello Kitty My Dream Store to an even broader global audience.
Q. What do you hope to gain from participating in ChinaJoy this year?
A. Our biggest goal at ChinaJoy is to experience the Chinese market firsthand and see how local players respond to the game. We want to understand how Chinese players react to the game’s merge puzzle mechanics, decoration features, and character content featuring Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters. Based on the feedback and insights we gather here, we plan to further refine our localization strategy and prepare for our full-scale entry into the Chinese market.
Q. Various support programs, including the Korea Pavilion at ChinaJoy, are being offered to Korean indie game studios and small and medium-sized developers. What additional support do you think is needed to further the growth of the Korean game industry?
A. I believe there need to be more opportunities for developers to move beyond the domestic market and expand overseas. Player preferences, service environments, and marketing approaches differ from country to country, so successful localization requires much more than simply translating a game into another language. It would be helpful to establish a stronger support system that gives developers opportunities to work with local partners, better understand overseas markets, and receive assistance with localization and live operations tailored to each country. If this kind of support continues to expand, I believe it will greatly help Korean developers take on the challenge of reaching broader global markets.
Q. Finally, what would you like to say to players who have not yet tried Hello Kitty My Dream Store?
A. It has been about a year since Hello Kitty My Dream Store launched, but there are still many players who have yet to discover the game. Our game is easy to pick up and enjoy, with simple controls and a relaxing experience centered around adorable characters and decorating your own store. I would especially recommend it to anyone who feels tired from their busy daily routine or is simply looking for a game that lets them relax and take a break. We will continue to introduce a variety of new character costumes and fresh content, so we hope you will continue to show Hello Kitty My Dream Store your interest and support.
